What is Advanced Regenerative Medicine?
Advanced regenerative medicine refers to therapies such as cell therapy, gene therapy, and tissue engineering that use human-derived cells to regenerate, restore, or rebuild the structure or function of the human body, or to treat and prevent diseases. It is a next-generation medical treatment that restores function and reconstructs damaged structures using human-derived cells.
Only Certified Institutions Can Perform Advanced Regenerative Medicine
This treatment requires advanced technology and a strong safety system. Institutions must meet the following strict requirements to be designated:
Dedicated facilities capable of conducting clinical research
Related equipment and infrastructure
Research directors and staff managing cells and data
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Completion of certified training by the Ministry of Health and Welfare
Passing document review and on-site inspection
In Which Fields Is Advanced Regenerative Medicine Effective?
Tissue and Organ Regeneration
It is possible to restore the function of damaged areas or generate new tissue using stem cells or human-derived genes.
ex) skin tissue, cartilage, nerves, etc.
Recovery of Body Functions and Structural Repair
Damaged areas due to trauma, disease, or aging are analyzed and treated with customized approaches to restore function and stabilize structure.
ex) arthritis, aging skin, etc.
Treatment and Prevention of Diseases
Advanced regenerative medicine can be used not only as an alternative treatment but also for early intervention and preventive care. It plays a crucial role in slowing disease progression or preventing onset, contributing to long-term health management. Also, it is also emerging as a sustainable future medical model through integration with personalized medicine.
ex) new options for refractory diseases, preventive effects through tissue intervention
